Our Junior Preschool program is designed for children ages 3 to 4 who are ready to take the next step in their early learning journey. In this class, children are not required to be fully potty trained, but they should be 50-60% potty trained and actively working toward independence with guidance from our nurturing staff.

This program builds on foundational skills while introducing more structured learning experiences to prepare children for our Preschool classroom. Through hands-on, play-based learning, children will:

• Strengthen independence and self-help skills such as dressing, handwashing, and managing personal belongings
• Enhance social-emotional growth through cooperative play, group activities, and problem-solving experiences
• Expand language and literacy development with daily calendar time, Storytime, letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and vocabulary-building activities
• Develop early math skills by exploring patterns, sequencing, one-to-one correspondence, and number recognition
• Engage in themed learning units that introduce science, nature, and creative arts through hands-on experiments and discovery-based play
• Improve fine and gross motor skills with activities like cutting, tracing, climbing, and balancing
• Participate in circle time and calendar activities to strengthen listening skills, turn-taking, and classroom routines
• Explore music, movement, and dramatic play to encourage creativity and imaginative expression

Our Preschool program, designed for children ages 4 to 6, focuses on kindergarten readiness by fostering independence, confidence, and a love for learning. In this class, children engage in a structured yet play-based curriculum that helps them develop the academic, social, and life skills needed for a smooth transition into kindergarten.

Through engaging, hands-on activities, children will:

• Strengthen early literacy skills by recognizing and writing their name, identifying letter sounds, and beginning sight word recognition, we introduce and develop early reading skills through engaging, hands-on activities. Children explore letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and storytelling to build a strong literacy foundation. Through interactive read-alouds, sight word practice, and early writing experiences, we encourage a love for reading while helping children develop the skills needed for kindergarten readiness
• Develop early math concepts such as number recognition, counting, simple addition and subtraction, sorting, and patterning
• Enhance fine motor skills by practicing proper pencil grip, using scissors, and engaging in pre-writing and early handwriting activities
• Engage in problem-solving and critical thinking through STEM-based learning, hands-on experiments, and open-ended play
• Expand vocabulary and language development through storytelling, group discussions, and question-based learning
• Learn social-emotional skills like cooperation, sharing, conflict resolution, and self-regulation to prepare for a structured classroom environment
• Participate in calendar time to understand days of the week, months, weather, and important events
• Practice following multi-step directions and develop listening and comprehension skills
• Explore creative expression through music, movement, dramatic play, and art projects
• Engage in real-world learning experiences such as cooking, gardening, and role-playing community helpers
• Build independence and self-help skills like zipping jackets, packing backpacks, and making choices throughout the day
